If you thought being forgiven completely is good news, hang onto your hat, it gets better. The Bible teaches us that under the new covenant, not only are our sins forgiven, but God has broken the power of sin and death over us. The living Bible translation puts it beautifully in Romans 6:10, “When he died, he died once to break the power of sin. But now that he lives, he lives for the glory of God.”

This means that once you lived in a prison called sin and in that place you committed many sins. It was your nature to do so. Not only did Jesus wipe clean the record of all your sins, but He broke you out of the prison of sin and set you free.

Look at this verse in Romans 6:11, “In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus.” Now you’re alive to God - permanently free from the power of sin in your life. From God’s point of view, there is no need that you should ever sin again. How free is that?

Sin no longer has any hold on you. Once you believe this in your heart, your thinking will change and your life will be transformed. Say to yourself, “I am a saint made holy and righteous as a free gift from Jesus. Sin has no power over me. I’m dead to sin and alive to God”
